Hi.  I have never done one of these pages before so please bare with me.
Can someone please tell me if there is a way of copying an e-mail folder in Kontact / Kmail to a hard drive space outside the program?

I have used KDE for a couple of years already and can say that the group of individuals or individual has done an incredible job. I like it so much that there are a few of us that would like to use it in a different way. I have looked at some of the customer relation Management programs out there like sugar for example and want something simpler. if it was possible to host kontact on our own server and at the same time have 5-6 people log on to kontact through say a web interface on intranet or internet, possibly that an administrator can set up login passwords and simple restrictions would be awesome. we all use the same contact list and calendar, are currently using kontact, can email and receive from and to the same one email account, share notes etc.
I hope this is the way to get answers. The instructions for asking questions  are not clear to me.

This would be an incredible feature if kontact could do this. I know that google apps is out there but its on someone else s server, I would like to keep MY CONTACTS on MY SERVER. It would keep us all on the same contact base and calander, all changes that would be done by one user would imediatly also be changed on the others loged into the program at that time. ( possibly with a screen change )
:This is actually intended for asking help in using UserBase - either finding information, or adding information.  Your question should really be asked on userlists, such as the '''[https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-users kdepim users list]'''. However, the simple answer to this, assuming that you have a straightforward download of POP mail (the most usual way) is to copy the whole of /home/you/.kde/share/apps/kmail/ to your hard diskIf you may wish to transfer the mail to another computer you should read '''[[KMail/FAQs_Hints_and_Tips#Transfer_mail_and_settings_to_another_computer_.28or_another_user_account_on_the_same_machine.29|this page]]''' because other files will be needed. --[[User:Annew|annew]] 07:08, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Any input on this subject would be appreciated.

This is actually intended for asking help in using UserBase - either finding information, or adding information. Your question should really be asked on userlists, such as the kdepim users list. However, the simple answer to this, assuming that you have a straightforward download of POP mail (the most usual way) is to copy the whole of /home/you/.kde/share/apps/kmail/ to your hard disk. If you may wish to transfer the mail to another computer you should read this page because other files will be needed. --annew 07:08, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
