| I've seen a couple of reports of this problem. I'm using kubuntu intrepid. It may stem from the fact that I already had mysqld installed. Additionally, my home directory is automounted remotely, and root can't write to it. Here's the output from akonadi startup:

| However, if I want to add google contacts it complains of bad password and does not do anything; however it accepts the same password akonadi_imap_resource but also seemingly does nothing; kontact tries and tries to fetch mails, but does so very sparingly.
