The developer's blog page introduces the plasmoid for KDE 4. It can be used either on the desktop or on the panel.


The original KNewsTicker was a kicker applet.

A port to KDE4 was started, as you can see from the image above. Unfortunately, KNewsTicker was discontinued for KDE4. However, there are alternatives available, such as Akregator, which can be used stand-alone or within Kontact.
