Krita є частиною KOffice з версії 1.4. У Krita передбачено прості у користуванні та корисні можливості, зокрема малювання за напрямними (ніколи малювання аерографом вздовж прямої лінії не було таким простим!), та професійні можливості, зокрема підтримка 16-бітових зображень, CMYK, L*a*b і навіть зображень з високим динамічним діапазоном OpenEXR.
