[1] La distorsione a botte è un effetto lente che distorce le immagini a sfera o le “gonfia”. La distorsione a botte è associata all'utilizzo di lenti a grandangolo e tipicamente si manifesta alle estremità di lenti zoom. L'utilizzo di convertitori spesso amplifica l'effetto. È più visibile in immagini con linee perfettamente dritte, specialmente quando sono vicine all'angolo del riquadro dell'immagine.
