Actually I believe that the commands for resolving the apparmor problem are wrong. I believe they should be the following:

  • /etc/sudo aa-complain mysqld-akonadi
  • sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor reload

MySQL/InnoDB problem

I've seen a couple of reports of this problem. I'm using kubuntu intrepid. It may stem from the fact that I already had mysqld installed. Additionally, my home directory is automounted remotely, and root can't write to it. Here's the output from akonadi startup:

---I had this problem too, for me it was solved by making sure that the contents of [homedir].local/share/akonadi was actually owned by my user (instead of root, as it was before). Jan

---Thanks Jan, I've checked and they are. I think the problem is that my home dir is automounted across the network, and the local root is not allowed to write to it (or read from it). Not sure how to fix this, though. --John
